Thursday, September 4, 2025 @ 6:45 P.M., at the Holden Senior Center Propagating Perennials: please join us for a lecture presented by Joan Butler, Master Gardener and Horticulturist at Weston Nurseries. Ms. Butler will share techniques for growing perennials from seed and from cuttings in the spring vs. fall seasons, and she will share other topics with us as well.
Thursday, October 2, 2025 @ ****6:45 P.M.,**** at the Holden Senior Center Invasive Plants: we are pleased to welcome Jennifer Forman Orth, Ph.D., Environmental Biologist with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and the expert on invasive plants in our region. Dr. Orth will present a lecture during which she will help us to identify and to combat the invasive plants which are crowding-out our native species.

****PLEASE NOTE: this is an earlier time than usual**** Harvest Potluck Supper And After Dinner Lecture– Spouses Welcome! Please join us for our Annual Potluck Supper, followed by our after-dinner lecture: Chuck Skillings, president of the Holden Historical Society, will treat us to a slideshow of episodes from Holden’s history.

Thursday, December 4, 2025 @ 6:45 P.M., at the Holden Senior Center Winter Container Gardens For The Holidays: we are pleased to welcome Deborah Nock, an award-winning garden designer who will present a slideshow about winter holiday designs. Ms. Nock will then demonstrate crafting a holiday container that will inspire us to design our own holiday centerpieces using paperwhites, birch, pine cones and many textures of greens.

Thursday, January 8, 2025 @ 6:45 P.M., at the Holden Senior Center Rose Bowl Parade Decorating: our Holden Garden Club members Priscilla Chesna and Kathy McFarland will share their wonderful experience of traveling to Pasadena, California and helping to decorate four Tournament of Roses Parade floats with live flowers.
Thursday, February 5, 2026 @ 6:45 P.M., at the Holden Senior Center England’s Painswick Rococco Gardens: please join us for Three Centuries of Revelry, Ruin and Restoration with Roger Bridgeman. Mr. Bridgeman will takes us on the journey of revelry, neglect and twentieth century restoration by its current owners, of this fabulous eclectic home and garden in England’s Cotswolds
Note: This meeting will be held via ZOOM if weather is inclement.

What else brings joy to you? About what other interests are you passionate? It’s an evening of show and tell!
Thursday, April 2, 2026 @ 6:45 P.M., at the Holden Senior Center Gardening Basics: please join us for a lecture presented by our guest speaker Gretel Anspach, Master Gardener and Trustee of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. Ms. Anspach will review some gardening basics for the benefit of our newer members.

Friday, May 15, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. @ Damon House @ 1187 Main St., Holden, MA
Perennial Plant Sale Prep: please bring your clean, labeled plants to the Damon House (across the street from the Gale Free Library). Help price plants & set up for the following day’s sale.
Note: Plants may also be dropped off Thursday or on Friday morning. Please tuck them against the Damon House or under the steps of the Damon House. Thank you. Members may refer to our Dividing & Potting Tips document for assistance in preparing your potted & labeled plant donations. Thank you!

Perennial Plant Sale: our club’s only fundraiser & best community service. All members are urged to contribute 10 plants (or more) & to share their expertise with our faithful customers by working at the Perennial Plant Sale. See you there!

Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Members’ Gardens Tour, Annual Luncheon and Annual Meeting:
The locations of this year’s Holden Garden Club Members’ Gardens Tour will be announced at a later date.
This year’s Tour of three member’s gardens will be followed by our open-air Annual Luncheon under tents and our Annual Meeting at noon which be held at: the location for these events will be announced at a later date.
At our Annual Meeting, we will review the highlights of the past year and preview our next program cycle. New officers will be elected.
Cost: $25.00 (to be collected at the final garden of the Tour or paid in advance to the Holden Garden Club Treasurer)
